Pentecost Sunday, May 28, will be a time for our diocese to come together at St. George’s Cathedral to mark the 160th anniversary of our diocese. Archbishop Anne Germond will join us as the preacher as we  celebrate the Spirit of God who draws us together, and the future that lies before us.

Pentecost Sunday will also provide an opportunity for members of the Diocese of Ontario to offer a personal goodbye to Bishop Michael Oulton who has announced his retirement this year. All members of our diocese are invited to attend the Pentecost service at St. George's Cathedral on Sunday May 28 at 11 am to celebrate the 160th anniversary of the diocese and to bid farewell to Bishop Michael Oulton. A light lunch will follow the service. An afternoon open house will continue with Bishop Oulton from 2-4 pm.

Archbishop Anne's video for our diocese ahead of Synod 2023

Archbishop Anne Germond speaks to our faith as Christians, especially during this liminal time as we emerge from the pandemic -- a time of unknowing and uncertainty about the future. Despite this uncertainty, our common fellowship as Christian faith communities, inspired by the Holy Spirit, keeps us rooted as followers of Jesus Christ.

Ahead of joining us at our 2023 Synod, in this short video, Archbishop Anne
introduces the 'third question' from a series of preparation questions for synod members as introduced previously by Bishop Susan Bell.

Archbishop Anne looks forward to joining us not only at Synod, but at our upcoming episcopal election at the end of April in the Anglican Diocese of Ontario.
