Volunteers needed for DOORS

Diocese of Ontario Refugee Support (DOORS) are seeking two individuals 18+  to work as refugee support volunteers. This role is suitable for people who are passionate about helping refugees and newcomers to the Kingston area. This is a great opportunity to connect with the refugee sponsorship community and be a friendly and supportive contact to those we serve. This is also a great opportunity for newcomers and students to develop career skills. We will respond to applicants within 5-7 business days. This is an in-person role. A 1-hour orientation will be provided. Vulnerable Persons CPIC will be required.

Tasks include: Answering phone calls; Triaging e-mail request; Meeting with individuals inquiring about the program; Assisting with basic office tasks; Possible events commitment (6 hours per week).

Hours:
Monday-Wednesday 2-5 pm
Thursday (9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm)
