Synod Council of the Diocese of Ontario established the Pandemic Financial Response Team (PFRT) to provide analysis and recommendation with respect to support for individual congregations. A Church Support Fund was established to financially assist continuing and new ministry and mission opportunities as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Church Support Fund is intended for churches that:

  1. Have seen their income most impacted (net of CEWS)
  2. Have limited financial resources to sustain the reduction and carry forward
  3. Have an outward focus on Mission and Ministry

Synod Council is conducting a survey of congregations in the diocese about your ministry and mission (see download below). There are two reasons for conducting the survey. First, it is intended to assist congregations with planning for the future. Second, the information received will guide Synod Council in the consideration of allocating financial assistance to congregations from the Church Support Fund.

The survey is founded on The Marks of Mission of the Anglican Church. They are:

  1. To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
  2. To teach, baptize and nurture believers
  3. To respond to human need by loving service
  4. To seek to transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and to pursue peace and reconciliation
  5. To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth
