After many years of dedicated service in the Diocese of Ontario, both The Rev. Canon Andrew Chisholm and The Rev. Lisa Chisholm-Smith have informed Bishop William of their decision to retire, effective April 30, 2027. Andy and Lisa both look forward to moving to the Guelph/Fergus area to be closer to family.
Ordained a Deacon in 1995, Andrew was Priested in 1996 and served in a number of parishes in our diocese including Christ Church Belleville, Bath and Amherst Island and the Anglican Parishes of Grenville North (Merrickville, Kemptville, Oxford). Andrew was made Incumbent of the Parish of St. James in Kingston in 2015. He was also appointed Archdeacon of the St. Lawrence in 2012 and a Canon of St. George's Cathedral in 2011. Early on in his career with the Diocese of Ontario Andrew also served as Chair of the Information and Communications Technology working group and the Training and Development Committee.
Deacon Lisa was ordained in 2014 in our diocese and throughout her ministry at St. James in Kingston, served the parish as both the Anglican Chaplain to Queen's University and the St. James Children and Youth Ministries Coordinator. Previous to ordination, Lisa served as the Diocese of Ottawa's Missioner for Baptismal Ministry and the Coordinator of the former School of Lay Ministry in the Diocese of Ontario. Lisa is also the past President of the Association of Anglican Deacons of Canada (she continues to serve on their board) and Co-Chair of the Faith, Worship and Ministry Committee of the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada.
With deep gratitude, Bishop Cliff thanks both Andrew and Lisa for their faithful ministry, compassionate leadership, and enduring witness to Christ among the people of St. James and across our diocese.
