DESCRIPTION:St George's Cathedral\, Kingston is delighted to host the Gentl
 eman of the Chapel Royal (St James Palace\, London) for a special service 
 of Choral Evensong on Saturday\, September 19 at 4:00pm. Directed by Tim H
 orton\, the six Gentlemen of the Choir will offer some of the most beautif
 ul choral music of our beloved Anglican Cathedral tradition\, providing an
  opportunity for the congregation to pause as they offer this prayer and p
 raise to God on their behalf. \nAll are most welcome. \nABOUT THE CHOIR\
 nThe Choir of Her Majesty’s Chapel Royal is one of the oldest continuous
  musical organisation in the world. It has existed since there have been C
 hristian Kings in England\, and its duties today are essentially the same 
 as they have been for a thousand years and more: to sing the regular servi
 ces in the Chapel of the Monarch’s home\, and to attend the Monarch at s
 ervices and other events elsewhere as commanded. Almost all of the princip
 al names in English music have been members of the Chapel Royal\, includin
 g Tallis\, Byrd\, Gibbons\, Purcell and Handel. The Chapel Royal Choir is 
 based at St. James’s Palace. \n\n\n\n\nThe Chapel Royal Choir is made u
 p of six Gentlemen-in-Ordinary\, ten choristers\, an Organist and Choirmas
 ter and a Sub-Organist. The boys are traditionally known as the Children o
 f the Chapel Royal\, and wear the distinctive State uniform introduced at 
 the Restoration in 1660. The boys attend City of London School\, and recei
