WELCOME TO ST. JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH
IN KEMPTVILLE, ONTARIO, CANADA

It is our great pleasure to welcome internet visitors to our Church home here in Kemptville, just 40 minutes south of Ottawa.

We are a parish of some 100 families, both young and not so young who are strongly motivated to welcome newcomers and visitors to worship with us and join in the programs outlined on other pages of this Website.

We are a traditionalist parish with a modern irreverence for the hidebound. We use the traditional Prayer Book Language Communion Service at 8:00 a.m. on Sundays while at 10:00 a.m. the language of the Choral Eucharist Liturgy alternates between the traditional and the modern in the Book of Alternative Services. Each Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. there is a more intimate and informal modern Communion Service.

The 10:00 a.m. Sunday Service includes a Church School for little ones from 4 years and up. After their lessons they join us in the Church for Communion and have a kiddies discussion with the Rector at the end of the Service.

We strive to have an interesting and fulfilling package of programs where all who wish can join in the activities and reach out to the community at large. Such events include our Annual Super Yard Sale in September, the A.C.W. Bazaar, and our Hospitality Kitchen which provides a free lunch every Friday (you see, there is such a thing as a "free lunch"!). Other activities are outlined elsewhere in this Website.

Our Church has a ramp to allow handicapped access and washroom facilities are also available in the Church. Unfortunately, we do not yet have handicapped access to our Parish Hall which has six steps up to the main entrance. There are washroom facilities on the main floor of that building.

We would be most happy to welcome you. A map of how to find us is included below. Should you wish additional information, please visit our website at www.stjameskemptville.ca or contact us by telephone at (613) 258-2562.

Rev. Canon Peggy Hudson
Rector
